Lee Smith said: "The intro is a sample from Douglas Spotted Eagle (a Native American artist on Windham Hill) that translates as 'with these words...'" I've also found his homepage: http://www.spottedeagle.com. However, http://www.marillion.com has the following quote at the top of the lyrics:

"The songs and the music that I portray comes from the heart, and comes from the mind. That makes it... that makes me feel that I am delivering the right information."

If anyone can substantiate this is from Douglas Spotted Eagle, I'd be grateful.
